Track: Pediatric BMT Program
Thursday, February 2, 2012: 10:30 AM-12:00 PM
Douglas C (Manchester Grand Hyatt)
Chair:
Carrie L. Kitko, M.D.
Summary:

Chronic GVHD is a common cause of morbidity and mortality following allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Though the pathophysiology of chronic GVHD remains poorly understood, several organ manifestations are linked by end-organ fibrosis. In particular, severe pulmonary and cutaneous disease manifestations will be described and potential treatment options reviewed. Potential pathogenic mechanisms that may induce fibrogenesis in chronic GVHD are discussed in this session.
